One of those time wasters.

I got tagged to do this on facebook. And then I was meant to tag another 25 people or something. But I’m not good for that sort of thing, but I thought I could steal the meme as an excuse for a blog post. It’s a ‘25 things about you’ thing, which I’m going to turn into ‘25 things about Liz and Train’ because I can’t think of 25 things about myself.

1. Train is a very anxious kitty. She’s got a touch of separation anxiety, and a fear of strangers. And sisters.

2. I’ve attended 8 different schools while growing up. Most of the changes where in Primary School, because we moved around a lot when I was little(r)

3. Train’s favourite game at the moment is to crawl under the bed, then lie on her back peeking into the crack between the wall and the bed, and grab at my fingers while I’m sleeping. (As inevitably my arm will dangle over the edge).

4. I love Doctor Who, but I think it’s only because of David Tennant.

5. I first met Train in a Hungry Jack’s car park out west. It was so, so so dodgy, but I brought her home anyway.

6. I really don’t like Brisbane. I don’t plan on living there ever again.

7. Train is really awesome at catching flies. She pounces with surprising accuracy and often brings them to us while they’re still buzzing.

8. I met Jarod through Flickr. He sent me a message that said: “I’ll do you a deal. You stop stalking my photos on Flickr and I’ll stop stalking yours. Fair?” 24 messages later and I’d convinced him to come along to a Mic in Hand.

9. Train respects Jarod much more than she does me. All he has to do is look at her and she’ll stop whatever trouble making she’s into.

10. I came to Sydney because I got transferred down with DHL. I was planning on moving to Melbourne, but got distracted.

11. Train is creepy and likes to watch you while you shower. She’ll often poke her head around the shower curtain and just stare.

12. I used to really, really, really like comedy. I’m a bit over it at the moment, so am trying to avoid it. Although I’m still tempted to go down for the Comedy Festival so I don’t miss two years in a row.

13. I’m terrible at keeping in touch with people. I have friends all over Australia, but most of them will only hear from me once every couple of months if they’re lucky. This has a lot to do with me not being a very sociable person.

14. Train has the most awesome temper I’ve ever seen in a cat. By awesome I mean, when she gets proper angry, I actually get scared. I have never experienced that with a cat before.

15. I did the Funny Tonne at the 2006 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. I didn’t take it at all seriously, and ruined my show-seeing stats by going back to see my favourite shows up to three times again. My reviews were largely similar, although apparently a little blunt sometimes. It was so. much. fun. I wasted a whole lot of money on accommodation and seeing the extra shows, but I don’t regret a thing.

16. Train is apparently a Burmese x British Shorthair in tortoiseshell. The tortoiseshell part is the only thing I can verify.

17. I never thought I would live without a car, and yet I was still happy to sell mine last year. I haven’t really needed it since, either.

18. Train loves to sit on the worm farm in the morning sun. If we try and remove her, she’ll hunker down and not let us get a grip on her.

19. I’m not good with movies. I haven’t seen many, and am not really interested in it. Although, Jarod and I watch heaps of documentaries.

20. Train sometimes tries to escape. She’s never been further than under our stairs, and it scares us every time she goes for it. (Although it’s been a good 3 months since she last tried. This is probably also due to a ‘gate upgrade’).

21. I like Perth a lot. It’s a sleepy little town.

22. Train wont eat any food that’s given to her by Julie. We keep trying, and it always turns into wasted food.

23. I like to read, but don’t have nearly enough time on my hands — I like to read books in one or two sittings. I’m not one of those people that can read two pages a night for 6 months, I need to know the ending now.

24. I really want more cats. Like, at least 2 more. I think it’d be awesome to live in a house filled with cats.

25. I think it would be cool to set up a web cam to watch Train all day. I like to think she gets up to interesting things, but it would probably just capture her sleeping all day.

Thought you might like this Liz…..

    From a Cat’s Daily Diary…

    Day 983 of my captivity…

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a ‘good little hunter’ I am. Bastards.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of ‘allergies.’ I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow — but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released – and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously mentally deficient.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now…………….

    norbs.

    PS, Hi to Jarod.

PSS. Hope the blister heals up quickly.

Ha, I saw that a couple of years ago. Still funny. I’m pretty sure Train thinks exactly like that.

Jarod says Hi — and the blister is healing quite nicely!
