Highland Fling, Here I Come!
I wasn’t going to enter the 2009 Highland Fling. But this morning I was made aware that there has been a change in the rules. In previous years registration had to be done the day before the race. This year however, they’re allowing rego from 6am til 7am on the day of the race as well.
Nice work to the organisers for realising that a pre race day registration inconveniences a hell of a lot of people. Several BMU people were saying they’ll drive for 1.5 hours to register, drive home, sleep, then head back on race day. Times that by a Jarod-estimated 50 – 100 people that don’t want to camp/get accommodation and the ‘carbon neutral’ status of their event is very much in doubt.
Anyway… ranting aside… I’ll be registering as soon as they get their server issues sorted. And I guess training starts tomorrow.

This event looks awesome :) Good idea for rego- as the drive there and back would be a total waste of time. Having some of the BMU crew there will be great too. Very social.
Talking of rego I’m looking to enter a running event on Saturday- rego opens t 6.30am and it’s limited to 600 runners i think. Word is that entering online is the first epic challenge!

hmm… that’s actually tempting.
