Marrickville Council’s Operation Cat

Posted by: Liz at 6:54 am, November 23rd, 2009

Yay, Marrickville Council! It’d be nice if it could run longer than a couple of weeks though.

A desexed cat is a happier, healthier, safer cat. And microchipping gives cat owners peace of mind.

Marrickville Council is encouraging cat owners to get their feline friend desexed and microchipped between 16 – 27 November 2009 as part of Operation Cat.

As part of Operation Cat, the Cat Protection Society’s Cat Protection Welfare Officer will pick up Marrickville residents’ cats and kittens, transport them to a vet, get them desexed and/or microchipped and bring them home the next day.

The cost to the owner is:

- Female cat desexing $80
- Female cat desexing and microchip $90
- Male cat desexing $70
- Male cat desexing and microchip $80

Operation Cat aims to make looking after cats easier and more affordable for seniors, who may have mobility issues, and for those who need financial assistance.

Bookings for this service are essential. For more information or to book phone the Cat Protection Society on 9519 7201.
