Annette’s Sketchbook Sweeties are absolutely adorable. I already have eight of them hanging on our walls (unfortunately, in out of the way places due to the whole ‘no putting holes in walls while renting thing’), and have been wanting to add to the collection for ages.

Although, until we get walls we can poke holes in, I’ve had to settle for a notepad and a bunch of stickers. Still, it’s a win in my books. :D :D

During the short car ride in she was fine, mewed a little in a curious way but seemed okay. Once we got into the surgery, she got very, very quiet. Little did we know what was to come.

We took her in to the examination room, and she refused to come out of the carrier. That was an easy fix - the roof easily unclips. Turns out, that was a bad move.

Angry kitty had come out to play, and was not going to have a bar of any kind of check up or injection. The Vet did his best to win her over, but gave up and asked a nurse for assistance. He suggested to bring some gloves in, but she declined. Little did she realise what she was in for.

She put a towel over Train in an effort to get a hold of her (and to calm her down with darkness) and Train went mental. Not just a little mental, but totally fucking out of her little kitty mind mental. She was screaming and growling like an angry bear and waving her claws and teeth at everyone she could. The nurse decided perhaps the gloves were a better idea after being punctured with the aforementioned claws, and came back in to pin her down for the injection.

Train was so scared/angry that she lost control of her little kitty bodily functions and so not only did she get her nails clipped and a vet visit, when we got home she also needed a bath :(

The Vet was kind enough to provide us with a prescription for Valium ’so we could prepare Train for next time’ and we were sent on our way.

She’s totally fine now, doesn’t have a problem with us touching her or going near her, but geez, we’re going to have to prepare for the next visit. Thankfully it wont be for another year.

Matt Smith has been named as the actor who will take over from David Tennant in Doctor Who - making him the youngest actor to take on the role.

At 26, Smith is three years younger than Peter Davison when he signed up to play the fifth Doctor in 1981.

Smith will first appear on TV screens as the 11th Doctor in 2010.

Once I’ve been playing for more than a few days I’ll post a mini review. Be warned though, it might only consist of a few (swear) words if I end up getting smooshed by people bigger than me.

But, on Thursday night, there was a power outage. It was near midnightish, and neither Jarod and I could sleep. So, we used the internets on our phones and discovered, thanks to ABC Online’s superior news coverage, that we could blame a Marrickville Chocolate Factory for the no powerness. (Or, perhaps the fact it was next door to an electricity sub station).

On Jarod’s super early bike ride the next day, he rode past and took a photo or two:

Apparently around 35,000 homes were affected, but all was restored by 6am.

I’ll be damned if I’m not having a much more quiet NYE in 2009.

The only negative that both Liz and I found is that a week or so ago we both couldn’t sync for a few days. An error message stating that a connection couldn’t be established or something. We presumed their server was down and were just patient and things returned to normal pretty quickly. Other than that it’s been a bundle of joy which works nice and seamlessly such that you don’t know it’s there.

If you want to sync your Google Calendar to your E71 (or anything on the S60 platform), get Goosync. Don’t worry about the subscription version unless you’re a super duper mega power user, the free version will do fine.
